In Tsav
The Key People include Moshe (Moses), Aharon (Aaron), and Aharon’s (Aaron’s) sons.
The Scene is the wilderness of Sinai.
The Main Events include the LORD‘s for the burnt offering, grain offering, sin offering, trespass offering, and peace offerings; dressing Aharon and his sons in priestly garments, anointing the tabarnacle, the seven-day period while the priests remain in the tabernacle; and Aharon and sons doing all the LORD has commanded by the hand of Moshe.
Adonai spoke to Moses, saying: “Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the Torah of the burnt offering. The burnt offering should remain on the hearth atop the altar all night until the morning, while the fire of the altar is kept burning on it. The kohen is to put on his linen garment, with his linen undergarments on his body. He is to remove the fat ashes from where the fire has consumed the burnt offering on the altar and put them beside the altar. Then he is to take off his garments, put on other ones, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. The fire on the altar is to be kept burning on it—it must not go out. Each morning the kohen is to burn wood on it, laying the burnt offering in order upon it, and burning up as smoke the fat of the fellowship offerings. Fire is to be kept burning on the altar continually—it must not go out.
(Leviticus 6:1-6 TLV)
The Haftarah
Thus says Adonai: “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom nor the mighty boast in his might nor the rich glory in his riches. But let one who boasts boast in this: that he understands and knows Me. For I am Adonai who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth. For in these things I delight.” It is a declaration of Adonai.
(Jeremiah 9:22-23 TLV)
The Brit Chadasha
But when Messiah appeared as Kohen Gadol of the good things that have now come, passing through the greater and more perfect Tent not made with hands (that is to say not of this creation), He entered into the Holies once for all—not by the blood of goats and calves but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.
(Hebrews 9:11-12 TLV)
