• Matthew 17:1-13

- Exodus 21:20
- Exodus 22:4(5)
- Exodus 22:27(28)
- Exodus 23:6
- Exodus 23:20
- Exodus 23:26
Maftir: Exodus 23:16 (A) 23:15 (S)
The Key People are Moshe (Moses), Aharon (Aaron), Nadav (Nadab), Avihu (Abihu), the people of Yisra’el (Israel), 79 elders, Y’hoshua (Joshua) and Hur.
The Scene is Har Sinai (Mount Sinai).
The Main Events include rules about servants, property, resting, and keeping the three annual feasts; an angel sent to lead Yisra’el, go into C’na’an, and drive out the enemies; Moshe telling the LORD‘s judgments, the response, “Na’aseh v’nishma (we will do and we will listen);” Moshe sprinkling people with blood of the covenant; Moshe going up mountain to receive the tablets, staying 40 days and nights, and the glory of the LORD like fire.
When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it. The glory of Adonai settled upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. Then on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The appearance of the glory of Adonai was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of Bnei-Yisrael. So Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and went up onto the mountain. Moses was on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights.
(Exodus 24:15-18 TLV)
Thus says Adonai: “If I have not made My covenant of day and night firm, and the fixed patterns ordering the heavens and earth, only then would I reject the offspring of Jacob, and of My servant David so that I would not take from his offspring rulers over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore them from their exile, and have compassion on them.”
(Jeremiah 33:25-26 TLV)
The Brit Chadasha
After six days, Yeshua takes with Him Peter and Jacob and John his brother, and brings them up a high mountain by themselves. Now He was transfigured before them; His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
(Matthew 17:1-2 TLV)
