The Feast of Unleavened Bread
Here are the Torah, Haftarah and suggested Brit Chadasha (New Testament) readings for this Festival.
On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Matzot to Adonai. For seven days you are to eat matzah.
(Leviticus 23:6 TLV)
• Exodus 12:21-51
• Numbers 28:16-25
• Joshua 3:5-7, 5:2-6:1, 6:27
• John 1:29-31, 10:14-18
During the first month in the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, you are to eat matzot, until the evening of the twenty-first day of the month. For seven days no hametz is to be found in your houses, for whoever eats hametz, that soul will be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is an outsider or one who is born in the land. You are to eat no hametz; in all your houses you are to eat matzot.”
(Exodus 12:18-20 TLV)
The Haftarah
While Bnei-Yisrael camped at Gilgal, they observed Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month in the plains of Jericho. On the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate of the produce of the land, matzot and roasted grain. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten of the produce of the land. Bnei-Yisrael had manna no longer, but ate some of the yield of the land of Canaan that year.
(Joshua 5:10-12 TLV)
The Brit Chadasha
“I am the Good Shepherd. I know My own and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not from this fold; those also I must lead, and they will listen to My voice. So there shall be one flock, one Shepherd.
(John 10:14-16 TLV)
Torah Portion readings and the associated Haftarah readings generally follow the Stone Edition Chumash and/or the Complete Jewish Bible. Verse numbering generally follows the Hebrew tradition, and where modern Christian traditions differ those verse numbers are shown in parentheses (). Haftarah readings generally follow the Ashkenazi tradition. Where the Sephardic tradition differs, the Haftarah portions are designated as (A) and (S). Suggested New Testament readings are taken from various sources. Scripture taken from the Tree of Life Version (TLV) © 2015 by the Messianic Jewish Family Bible Society.
